____/50 Setting: Story has a clear sense of time and place created through appropriate descriptive details and/or dialogue. Setting is rendered in a sophisticated, seamless manner as an integral part of the story by incorporating vivid sensory details, imagery and description to “show” rather than “tell” about the setting. Details create mood and atmosphere.

____/25 Mechanics: Dialogue is entered and punctuated correctly/ story is logically paragraphed/ story is proofread to contain no errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
